NCDs

NCDs are killing us in increasing numbers.

Unhealthy diets and the resulting malnutrition are major drivers of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) around the world. Malnutrition includes undernutrition, overweight and obesity, and other diet-related NCDs like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease (heart diseases) and stroke, and some cancers. All of these are primary causes of high mortality rates – deaths that could have been prevented.

Our programs have been developed specifically to address the lack of healthcare information that could prevent needless deaths. We bring our educational programs into the village as we work to close the gap to inaccessible healthcare information.

Our Rose Uganda Fellows teach families how to fortify porridge using readily available grains.
