Our board of directors brings years of experience in a variety of academic disciplines which strengthens our program development as we work to empower the most vulnerable and oppressed individuals in the world.
Susan Stasi is the CEO of Rose Academies, a globally recognized humanitarian agency that is established in Uganda, Eastern Africa. Since 2014, she has spearheaded multiple campaigns that address the disparities of health and wellness of impoverished communities in an effort to empower the oppressed, vulnerable and disabled with knowledge while reducing preventable deaths of children.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Jose State University, Magna Cum Laude, concentration on Foreign Languages and DSCTE California Teaching Credential from U.C.Berkeley.
Monica Metzger is our new Vice President as well as Director of Product Development. Her knowledge and experience in the field of engineering have helped ROSE to become a leader in the field of healthcare education for the rural poor communities. Our Healthy Future application program has been successfully taught throughout Uganda as it features a wealth of healthcare lessons that are packaged in an easy to navigate application program. Her recent accomplishment is the development of a miniature stand alone server that is based on the raspberry pi technology. The ROSE PCH (Portable Classroom Hub) is a revolutionary changemaker in the way healthcare can be taught in rural poor communities.
Miss Metzger is a graduate of Santa Clara University where she received her Masters in Computer Science and Engineering.
Carol Buchser has been Rose Academies’ Board Secretary since its founding in 2014. Her support has been instrumental in the growth of our organization to become an internationally recognized leader in educational programs for the vulnerable and oppressed populations found in LMICs.
Ms. Buchser has an extensive background in education and was a major contributor to the development of the current vocational education program as a means of promoting economic enterprise.
Ms. Buchser received her Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College and her Masters of Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
Joining our board is Dr. Selina Stasi, Professor of Health Promotion and Behavior at Texas A&M University School of Public Health. Her experience and knowledge in working with indigenous populations make her a perfect choice for the promotion of community development as the Community Engagement Officer for Rose. Her recent trip to Uganda has already revealed her ability to unite and engage youth with the creation of our new division: Rose Kids That Care Club – Uganda.
Dr. Stasi brings a wealth of experience in working with Nonprofit Organizations, Research, Event Planning and Program Development; She holds a doctoral degree in Public Health from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Parker is the Assistant Director of the Public Health Program at Santa Clara University, and an adjunct lecturer. She received her BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego and her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on cross-disciplinary solutions for global health problems and collaborates with teams in the School of Engineering to bring health education, low-cost medical technology, and mental health awareness to marginalized communities in regions of Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
Ms Chavez comes to Rose Academies with over 16 years experience in the technology sector. As product manager of Cloud technology at Google, Ms. Chavez brings a wealth of knowledge in the use of tech to solve the world’s most critically important social issues. We welcome Ms. Chavez to our board.
Our Rose Uganda Team is the backbone of our organization and the key to our success. Their commitment and dedication to create positive change in the world shines through in all the programs we have developed and implemented. Our rewards are the lives we have saved.
Ms. Ainomugisha has been Rose Academies-Uganda’s Program Director since we started working in Uganda in 2018. Her dedication and commitment to Rose is exemplary as she manages a staff of 25 persons that work in 4 different districts in Uganda. Under her direction, she helped develop our Rose Uganda Fellowship Program and Gweri Vocational Training Center that has changed thousands of lives with our revolutionary means of empowering the rural poor.
Ms. Ainomugisha is an accomplished public relations professional and a recent graduate of Ndejje University.
Haidar Luboobi, MPH, is a highly skilled nutritionist and healthcare professional. His expertise in nutrition assessment, capacity building of community based trainers, and Maternal Infant Child Health has been instrumental in developing Rose Academies’ fully integrated healthcare educational programs that are improving the health and wellness of hundreds of families throughout Uganda.
Mr. Luboobi is employed as Nutritionist for Kampala Extra Region Prison Service. He holds a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Makerere University School of Public Health.
Mastulah Nalubwama Kiggala is an amazing business professional. She is Hard of Hearing, co-founded the Uganda Federation of the Hard of Hearing, is a primary representative at World Hearing Forum and is a member of Uganda’s National Disability Council. Her efforts in advocacy for the disabled population are exemplary. We are honored to have this exceptional young woman as our OPD Liaison Officer.
Ms. Kiggala has a BA in Social Work from Bugema University.
Dayton Jimmy Male is our newly appointed Director of Youth Programs/KTCC-Uganda. His background in music and the arts have been the cornerstone of his program that empowers youth to make healthy life choices while learning about their cultural heritage that embraces the arts, music and dance.
His new program: Rose Kids That Care Club – Uganda is planning a performance in late 2025 where we will get an opportunity to experience the talents of these young artists. Stay tuned to find out more about this exciting group.
