A new beginning

Meet Nairah. She is a 25 year old single mother of a 2 year old little boy. She was married previously to an abusive man who denied her the opportunity to continue her education after form 6 despite having earned a scholarship that would pay for her classes. She earns a meager income by selling fried potato chips on the roadside to care for her child and herself.

Nairah is one of the women taking Rose Academies & Girl Power’s training class on menstrual health & hygiene (MHM) and making reusable pads. She wants to teach girls in her village so they do not have to go through the same struggles she did when she didn’t have any pads to use during her school days. We are extremely proud of this young woman who is learning about MHM and reproductive health so she can share the knowledge with other young women in her village.
